Fashion Porn: Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses

Category :

The iconic Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses are the original "Pilot Shades" and were originally developed by the American company Ray-Ban for use by military pilots during the Second World War. Pilots of that era would complain about wearing goggles because of the mismatching tan lines that they would leave around the eyes, and thus the solution was to wear the tear drop shaped sunglasses that were specially designed by Ray-Ban. These particular sunglasses were then popularized by the likes of celebrities such as Michael Jackson, and Tom Cruise. Because of their avant-garde styling they are now worn by both civilians and military aviators alike, as well as by fashionable people who lead an urban lifestyle. The smokey lenses and the ergonomically designed teardrop shape of the frame are excellent in cutting out glare from the sun and are thus well suited for winter use. Although first released in 1936 these iconic sunglasses are as stylish today as they were then.
